Originally studied for his Bachelor's in Mathematics at Claremont McKenna College, and did graduate engineering studies at Stanford University before entering Medical School at the University of California, San Diego.
Upon completing his Neurosurgery residency at the University of Washington, he became board certified and has now been practicing neurosurgery for nearly thirty years. He has broad experience in performing minimally invasive surgery, as well as complex spinal surgery, carotid surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
Before moving to Anchorage, Dr. Wright ran one of the busiest private practices on the West Coast. Dr. Wright is an avid pilot, flight instructor, cyclist, skier and father of eight. He is currently seeing patients in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Wasilla.
Dr. Wright was awarded Seattles Best Surgeon by a group of his peers.
